Pastor Etienne Harushimana
Pastor Etienne Harushimana was born in Burundi and raised in Tanzania before moving with his family to Canada in the early 2000s, settling in Saskatoon. His multicultural journey has shaped his deep love for people and his passion for ministry.
In 2018, after completing his bachelor’s degree in religious studies, Etienne began full-time pastoral ministry in Marystown and married his university love, Kaitlynn. Together, they have embraced ministry as a shared calling. Kaitlynn has served the Newfoundland and Labrador Mission of Seventh-day Adventists since 2017 in Camp and Communications, and since 2023 as Camp and Youth Director.
They believe deeply in serving side by side and are grateful that God has blessed them with the opportunity to minister together in Newfoundland and Labrador.
They are the proud parents of two daughters, Amia (2021) and Anezi (2023). In April 2025, Etienne accepted a call to pastor the St. John’s Seventh-day Adventist Church, and their family transitioned to the Avalon region that fall.
Etienne is passionate about knowing God more deeply, engaging in genuine conversations about life and faith, and preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ. He also serves as one of the five pastors on Lighthouse Radio, sharing messages of hope with a wider community.
Together, Etienne and Kaitlynn’s heart is simple and clear: to help people experience the love, belonging, and hope found in Christ.
